EXCELENTE!!!!

Submitted by nn_25483 on Fri, 11/06/2009 - 6:28am.

Best Album

Submitted by b_unt_d on Fri, 09/04/2009 - 11:20pm.

The best album to date i believe. De-Loused holds a special place in my heart, no contest really if you want to compare how epic and masterful it was being the bands first full release. However Octahedron shows maturity beyond anything to date.

If you really want to take the time to lay 90 different elements into a track like Omar said its going to be something amazing. Pure is a great way to describe Ocathedron. I feel like Omar peeled back some armor and let us in to see the heart of the beast that is The Mars Volta.

Plus Cedric's rhythmic balance is unbelievable, but we already knew that :)

The best mars volta album!

Submitted by williamreinsch on Wed, 08/19/2009 - 10:01am.

This album is so underrated, it seems all people are wanting to listen to is the heavy side of The Mars Volta. This is probably the best album they have done yet, its like when fear factory released obsolete, it was the slowest album they have done but the most powerful just like this album. So if you actually care about the music buy it!

Back to the outskirts

Submitted by LuisLabaki on Fri, 07/24/2009 - 6:35am.

Frances The Mute was going deep into the Kill Bill Vol. 2 universe, and everything happened in that sort of small-and-isolated-desertish-kind-of-a-place.

And then came Amputechture, that took us to some awkward Villa inhabited by Giants and bandits of bizarre, leaving everybody wounded there, lost (and marvelled) beneath a striking sun...

Bedlam In Goliath...well, a detour, sort of speaking, to an halucination on the Middle-East placed on the same desert we were in Amputechture, but with double-visions of two Mars Voltas playing together and in a wacked frenzy.

So, here we are now in Octahedron, a nightish album for sure. It is a rest in the night of the desert, surrounded by ponchos and peyote experiences, awaiting for something to come - and it does, in Luciforms, a kind of return to the scenario of Frances the Mute.

Where are they taking us now?

En el Octaedro

Submitted by garhdez6 on Sat, 06/27/2009 - 2:41pm.

The Mars Volta's new album is one of their best. The album is great from start to finish, Some stand out tracks are Teflon, Halo of Nembutals, Cotopaxi, Desperate Graves. I want more, the next album should be a double album!! Then i can die peacefully lol.

Acoustic Pop? Yay.

Submitted by KC on Sun, 06/21/2009 - 12:50pm.

People keep complaining because this album is supposedly "acoustic pop"-esque but you know what?! who the *&*( cares! The mars can never go wrong, and they so far have done a beautiful job mutating the definition of "acoustic" and "pop", which is what they do best! So far I've heard "Since we've been wrong," "Cotopaxi," "Desperate Graves," and "With Twilight As My Guide." And they are all brilliant! But I've heard "Halo Of Nembutals" and "Copernicus" are supposed to be amazing too! I am psyched! I've been waiting for "Since We've Been Wrong" since before Bedlam came out! Back when I called it "Beneath the Eyelids" and was very impressed with the new version!!!
